Move from reminders to stakes
HerWay started from a simple problem at home: one person kept remembering the task, the deadline, and the follow-up. The app gives couples one shared place to write the rule, sign it, and see what happened.
Like many couples, my partner and I found ourselves trapped in a repetitive, frustrating loop about household duties. No matter how many chore apps, calendar reminders, or shared spreadsheet lists we tried, the mental load of project-managing the house fell unilaterally on one side. The reminders were swiped away, and the tracking only logged the problem.
Commitment devices gave us a better model: agree before the hard moment, then let the rule handle the follow-up. We built HerWay for couples who want that structure without surprise charges or one-sided enforcement.
Partners co-sign clear rules with deadlines and optional stakes. If a deadline is missed, HerWay records the result and handles the agreed outcome. The point is not punishment. It is a clear agreement before the reminder cycle starts again.
Crucially, HerWay is designed to address the asymmetric mental load that typically falls on women in relationships. Instead of one partner acting as the household manager—constantly tracking, reminding, and nagging—the app automates follow-through. Once a rule is co-signed, the app handles the tracking and direct-charging of stakes if a deadline is missed. This removes the need for repeated, tense confrontations and protects both partners from the exhaustion of one-sided management.

Frequently asked questions
A few basics about HerWay, who it supports, and how the product works.
HerWay started with a common household frustration: one partner kept carrying the reminders, follow-ups, and mental load. Calendars and checklists tracked the problem, but they did not change it. The product grew from that gap.
