How are time zones managed in HerWay?

HerWay detects each partner's local time zone from their device. Rule deadlines are shown in local time on each person's device. If one partner is in New York and the other is in London, a Wednesday 8 PM deadline shows as 8 PM EST on one device and 1 AM GMT on the other.

What counts as verification for long-distance rules?

Partners can verify rules with selfie uploads, screenshot of a call log, checklist entries, or manual confirmation. Both partners approve the verification method when the rule is created. The method should be something both people find reasonable and non-invasive.

What happens to missed-deadline stakes?

Stakes are released from Stripe Connect to the destination both partners chose. Many long-distance couples use a joint travel pot — so missed check-ins still contribute toward the next visit. Others route missed stakes to a charity or the other partner's wallet.

Can we use Points Mode for long-distance tracking?

Yes. Points mode is free and lets remote couples track calls, dates, and boundaries without financial stakes. Points build streaks and visibility. Real stakes can be added later if both partners want them.

Can we set different rules for different days?

Yes. You can create multiple rules — a daily text rule, a weekly call rule, and a monthly visit-planning rule. Each has its own deadline, stake, and streak. The rule board shows all active rules in one place.

What if one partner travels and changes time zones?

HerWay updates time zone detection based on device location. If a partner travels to a different time zone, their deadline display adjusts. The underlying rule time remains consistent — only the local display changes.
