Mental-load agreements usually benefit first from clearer scope and ownership. A financial consequence is optional and should never replace a fair conversation about capacity. If included, it must be explicit and mutually accepted.

Practical questions before you start
Is mental load the same as doing more chores?
They overlap, but they are not identical. Mental load includes noticing, remembering, planning, coordinating, and checking. A person can do fewer visible tasks while still carrying much of that cognitive work.
Can HerWay measure our mental load automatically?
No automatic measurement is claimed. Use the linked calculators and conversation guides to identify the work, then use HerWay for a specific commitment both partners understand.
What if the proposed responsibility is too broad?
The Doer can counter with narrower scope, different timing, or another proposed term. The commitment remains inactive until both partners agree on the final version.
Do we have to add money to a commitment?
No. A financial consequence is optional. If a couple includes one, it must be explicit and accepted by both partners as part of the final terms. HerWay does not require money for an agreement.
Can we switch the Creator and Doer roles?
There is no instant role switch while a partnership is active. To reverse roles, partners disconnect, existing tasks are paused, select or change roles, and reconnect under the new setup.
